Upgradation possible
To reduce the bandwidth, speech can be compressed with the various proprietary ADPCM / GSM compression algorithm available before being transmitted, and uncompressed with the inverse algorithm before being played back at the receiving end. The idea behind using speech compression is to reduce the digital audio stream in size so that it would take less bandwidth to transmit over the Internet.
However this being an experimental project, constraints in obtaining a proprietary compression algorithm has left scope for this application to be totally compatible with use on the Internet where at present, bandwidth availability is severely limited. Compression algorithms available as freeware on the Internet do not provide a sizeable bandwidth reduction for effective use.
Another upgradation which is possible is to incorporate changes in the application such that it automatically detects a duplex card installed and uses it to provide full duplex capabilities.
